Play Dough Recipes
Basic Play Dough
3 cups flour
1/4 cup salt
1 cup water
1 tablespoon oil
liquid food coloring
Mix flour with salt. Add water, food coloring, and oil slowly. If mixture is too stiff add more water. If it is too sticky, add more flour. Store dough in air tight container or zip-lock bag.
Variations:

Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan. Cook and stir over low/medium heat until play dough is completely formed and no longer sticky. Allow to cool slightly before storing in an air tight container or zip lock bag.

Paint Smocks Ready for Action...
These are old men's dress shirts with the sleeves cut short and elastic bands put in the sleeve.
Directions: Cut the sleeves to about half of the length of the arm. Press up 1 inch and fold under again, stitch down on the folded edge to form a casing leaving an opening to thread the elastic through. Attach a large safety pin on the edge of a cut length of elastic. Adjust the width and stitch the overlapping edges of the elastic.
Have the children wear these backwards with the buttons on the back side to protect their dress clothing.
