Some seeds take a while to sprout as do some of my ideas. The idea of sharing my love of art in response to story has been inside me for many years and now I can see that it is time to put those ideas and plans into action. My hope is to structure a one-day workshop that will introduce a new way of guiding the response time children (and ourselves) have in the context of Christian education. This will be a 'hands-on' time for adults to see and experience the importance of art materials to tell the story. Stay tuned for more information and spring with me into action.

I have been preparing for a workshop to be presented at Christ the King, Frankfurt tomorrow morning. They have 2 GP classrooms currently running and need to spread the word and work to other parishioners as they have only 2 teachers to date. I will present the lesson "The Theology of Childhood & Chilrdren's Spirituality" and have some hand-outs that will hopefully inspire more participation from parishioners to join the GP effort.

Recently I have found more resources for gathering GP materials. I think it is usually best to try to make the materials that you need but if you have the money and don't have the time, then purchasing would be the next option. In my years of gathering lesson materials, I found it useful to gather things I thought would lend themselves to a lesson for future gathering and assembling. Having a local woodworker identified in your parish is a valuable resource. Other people who can sew or paint may also be useful for gathering materials. So in addition to the storyteller and doorperson be sure to identify those others that can help support your program.

We are pleased to finally have one place to share ideas, methods, and inspiration for Christian Development through the importance of biblical story. Please send your comments and questions. We hope to be an open place for a hybrid program that fits the needs of your church or parish.
